Geranoil Dispenser Modifications
Suitable for Waterproofing the Unit |
|
The placement of the completed,
waterproofed unit around raptors that can knock the units over if just placed on
the ground is critical. Here the unit is screwed to cedar fencing.
To be screwed into a vertical surface, you have to make some minor
adjustments...see below. The squirrel caged fan moves air over the Geranoil cake
and out the drainage holes found on the bottom of the flower pot.
Additional holes are made in the side of the unit to facilitate air flow
further, also drains any water that might get into the units. |

|
If the Raptor cannot disturb the unit,
placement is simple. Just be sure to
put the Geranoil unit on a waterproof
base before you cover it with the
inverted flower pot. Make sure the
pot's drainage holes are open and the
base of the pot is pulled out to increase
air flow. The flower pot costs are
under one dollar. |

|
Here the dispenser is shown
placed into the flower pot
so that it may be affixed as
shown in the top picture. The
Styrofoam pieces keep the unit
oriented properly so that the
battery powered fan works
in a vertical orientation.
The holes on the bottom are for
any water that might get into the
unit, plus air circulation is improved.
Make sure the on/off switch faces out,
and make sure you turn it on before
you screw the entire unit into place.

The Geranoil dispenser itself.
The electrical tape (green)
is used to assure the two clips
do not release the two halves
of the unit after you have
placed it into the flower pot.
The links below will take you
directly to the companies which
produce the Geranoil products.
Waterbury Companies are
responsible for the battery
powered unit at left. FASST
Products supplies everything
from Geranoil impregnated
bracelets that will work well on
perches and other areas. But they have
a 120 hour life. The battery unit
works for 30 days. We are testing
other applications of other products
and will report on them later.
